Looking for a cheaper amp to see what people have that is 4 ohm stable. This is for a project I'm working on with a friend to try and build a sub with him. Could even be a pro audio amp, but cheap is the word in this one as trying to keep the cost down. Cheap as in under 300 if we can.

Thanks!

What about the Adcom GFA-545? It's a very capable and inexpensive amp, and it's stable below 4ohms, no problem.

I have one I'll sell, but it's a little ugly. Works perfectly, it's just a little beat up. If you need a really clean looking one for your project then this one is not for you, but there are usually few on ebay.

    Let me know.

+1 to what leroyjr1 said. I'm running a Crown XLS-1500 and they're stable down to 2 ohms. It's class D amplification, and gave me a much tighter sound from my sub than the Samson 1000 class A/B amp I had before. Can't recommend the Crown amps enough, and that's one hell of a price.

^I have seen pics, its FUGLY but it will do the job. Just hide it out of place .

If its still around when/if I do my DIY subs I might steal it myself and hit it with a can of black spray paint...

I sent a PM on the crown. Thanks!

My friend and I and his wife are looking at getting a place all together so may end up being our HT sub in a basement. Might even end up with 2..hehehe.
