Looking for thoughts or opinions on this unit..
My Cambridge DVD99 died, well the video output stage died I could still use it for music and to hear a DVD playing but no picture..
So brought it back to the market, money back; Told him to get it fixed and I might buy it again.
Back to the Rotel, I picked it up for $8 been using it for 2 days straight no issues at all.
No remote but I went online and download the codes into my Logitech for now..
I have it hooked up using Pepster's Vampire IC's I bought and the Power Cord into my Emo Amp..
I have something to say to EVERYONE on this Forum..
I am Sorry for all my negative comments about Power Cables not making a difference..
My comments were asinine and I Apologize, I will never comment on something I have no experience with again..
I have been using these cable about 2 weeks and I just wanted to be sure I was hearing what I thought I was hearing..
Pepster's PC made a big difference on my Emo Amp and his IC's are Amazing..
Everything just seems a little clearer at lower volumes and Tighter and Much more Detail in the Music, Bigger Soundstage and instruments are better defined less muddled together..
I will be buying MORE from Pepster, The quality of his work Is Awesome, Packing a shipping were Great..
Pepster is a Great guy to deal with..
Who Knew, Wow I'm Blown Away..
Thanks for your Time..

Cables matter and while Pepster and I have our ups and downs he seems solid in the cable dept.

My big question is; you changed units the same time you changed cables (that's how your post reads) how do you know much of what you are hearing isnt due to using a different unit? You need to do a comparo using one unit with old and new cables. If you did it this way, you don't mention that in your thread.

Yes, cables make a difference. But your method is suspect to me since you change units just as the new cable arrive. The Rotel is no slouch and I would expect it to sound more musical than the Cambridge right at the start.

Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. H9, yes I did use the cables on the Cambridge as well and was impressed but I wanted to wait longer to make sure I was hearing what I thought I was hearing.
I heard the magic from the moment I switched to Pepsters cables, you are correct in saying the Rotel does sound more musical than the Cambridge I'm glad I found it for 8 bucks, like I said been using it for 2 days straight not a skip or drink or pop or whatever CDs do..
When my Cambridge broke I put back in my Yamaha CDC-655 and it sounds like crap compared to both units.
Originally I had the PC on my Yamaha receiver but was not sure if I heard anything different but when I tried it on my Emo it was a completely different sound, warmer, cleaner tighter I even noticed it on my sub well I think the sub part may be related to the Rotel adding better cleaner tighter sounding bass..
Hope I answered your question enough, I've realized I still have a lot to learn in this game..

I have to comment on my LP listening today..
Since using Pepster's PC on my Emo I have not listened to any LP's and while I liked the sound of my Technics SL-1200MK2 I was having a simblance issue that I did not like to much the only way to control it was through lowering the volume but that took away some of the Fun..
Today I spent most of the day listening to my Technics and Rotel well the Simblance issue is completely GONE..
It's like whatever was causing the issue on the TT was removed somehow and the only thing I have changed is the PC...
I like very much whatever it did to my system, it's like a new Discovery..
    I can't believe a PC can make that big a difference, I still can't..
Come on guys feed me the crow,,I deserve it..

Pepster is definitely first class all the way, as are his cables. I have a full compliment of his PCs, some custom SDA ICs, and some braided Mogami ICs I use with my turntable and have been happy with each and every one of them.

I have to admit, when I first started this hobby I too was skeptical if cables really made a difference, especially PCs. I've learned over time everything matters! Glad you discovered the positive improvements these type of things make and enjoy the journey! Careful though, it's a slippery but fun slope. Think of it as a big waterside:-).

    Absolutely ^^^

Congrats on your discovery Jhayman. Kinda cool when previous beliefs are blown up. Think of cables as a separate piece of gear going forward.
