    Sid,
When auditioning speakers, you have to take note on the gear and cables being used. A speaker can sound very different with the right gear. Also very different in your room. Polks RTIA 7's are a good speaker, easy enough to drive with your receiver too. Go for it.

    Pioneer elite vhx 21
    Sony 4k BRP
    SVS SB-2000

    Polk FX500 surrounds

    Cables-

    Wireworld eclipse 7 ic's
    Audio metallurgy ga-o digital cable

I have almost decided to go with the RTIA7, however I came across a store yesterday who are 1.5 hours away an are selling the
    wharfdale and paradigm speakers

I want to add these 2 more speakers and confuse myself even further...hahha

I found a Wharfdale 10.7 floor demo for $950 and the same store is also having a sale on Paradigm Studio 60 and 100 and the paradigm monitor 7,9 and 11.

I don't know the price as they wont tell over the phone, you have to go to the store to get the price, its a 1.5 hour drive and I am wondering if it would be worth going there even to listen. I have heard the paradigm monitor 7 but maybe it was too small for my liking, i mean the soundstage. I can go back to the store closest to me and listen to the monitor 11 and then drive, but I am just
wondering if I will find any difference between the polk rtia vs the wharfdale or paradigm.

    what do you guys think?

Doesn't matter what "we" think, it's your ears... you need to be the judge.

Ok, so I think I have narrowed it down to 2.

    1. Polk RTIA7
    CSIA6
    surround- (which surround?)

I don't want the wall mounts as wife does not like them. It has to be bookshelves.

    or
    Focal Chorus - 814/716V
    Center - CC814V 800V
Surround - FOCAL - CHORUS 705V ( this package will be around $1600)

I don't know how will the Polks will cost.

My wife and I both liked the Focals but we still have to listen to the Polks RTIA7 before we decide. ultimately it will come down to
    cost then looks.

    Fronts - LSiM 705
    Center - LSiM 706c
    Sides - LSiM 703
    Mits WD-82842 82" DLP 3DTV
    Denon AVR-3313CI Receiver

I would go with FXI for surrounds, especially if your doing a 5.1 surround sound. They will fill in behind you much better than a bookshelf.
    AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808
    Amplifier: Carver A-753x 250 watts x 3
Fronts: Polk RTI A7 (modded by Trey VR3)
Center: CSI A4 (modded by Trey VR3)
    Rear: FXI A4
    Sub: Polk DSW Pro 660wi
    TV: LG Infinia 50PX950 3D
    Speaker Cable: AudioQuest Type 8
    IC: AudioQuest Black Mamba II

I am sure they will but wife will not let me put those on the wall.

Can you tell me the right location as I have to tell the builder about the location for 5.1 pre-wire.

I personally would go for the Klipsch RF series over Polk's RT series. I still have my Polk RT's but no longer own Klipsch. I've owned the RF-82, RF-82II series V and 2 models from their heritage line. With good quality amplification, the Klipsch will blow the Polks out of the water in terms of dynamics, impact and power. BUT they won't sound as balanced as the Polks in the mids. It's the price to pay for that extra dynamics you get from horns and high sensitivity. A balanced horn system cost a lot.
So if you like dynamics and big powerful sound, Klipsch. More laid back and balanced mids, Polk. Polk will also have superior build quality to the Klipsch RF.
The above are just my personal opinion. Even though I like the RF line more, I still enjoy my Polk RT's.

You don't have to wall mount the FX's, they can be put on stands, I think they would be better for surrounds in your seating location.

If you tried to run some Monitor 70's off a pos receiver - if you ran Monitor 70's off a NAD receiver at 100 wpc, you would sing all day. Bi wire them & you will sing louder. The Polk e bay store pricing was extremely aggressive & the speakers were brand new, never been opened packaging. That e bay store has some excellent deals.

What is a POS receiver, I already have a receiver Pioneer SC-1522K. Do I need to buy amplifiers etc. I just want it to be able to run on my receiver.

Since I am nota critical listener, do you guys think it would be better if I stay with the monitor line and get the new 75T, if so which center and surround would go with those.

I glad to know that if I go with the RTIA7 I can use the FXIA6 surround on a stand. Any stand recommendation?

I am getting quote on the RTIA7 from a local dealer world wide stereo for the RTIA7, CSIA6 and the FXIA4 for $1550.

Can I do better? can anyone help me find a deal?

I want to see how much the monitor 75t series with center and surround will come out to be vs. the RTIA line.

Bottom line is if your not in a hurry listen to as many different speakers as you can ...also realize that your room and the listening room might be different in set up and that will have an effect on the way they sound....everyone here has his/her favorites and it will drive you crazy listening to alls advice..but all good advice and all speak from their own experinces...let your ears be the final judge......and be warned as soon as you buy a set of speakers...something better sounding will come along :). I also agree with pickiing up a good pair of used speakers as the bang for your buch is fantastic and you can flip em easy wothout losing $$$$ Have fun with it and good luch finding the speaker best suited for you...now also realize that what they are hooked up to, the wires you use, the power cords you will use,and many other factors all make a difference as well ;)

POS = Piece of $hit. He just meant if you are running them off a low-end receiver.

I am not in a hurry but I don't want to listen to anymore speakers. I have listened to paradigm, B&W, martin logan, KEF, energy, Focals, PSB.

Out of which Focal Chorus are another choice I am leaning towards, however, Polk is the only one which I will be listening soon(RTIA). I have heard the TSI series.

I just now want to decide on a series of speakers, save some $$ and buy them.
