If you were to have a 1 hundred plus watt marantz receiver could you hook them to sda's that need common ground? Thanks in advance

You should have no problem connecting a Marantz or any other brand receiver to a speaker or switchbox with a common ground. It is only amplifiers that are natively of bridged design or stereo amps operated in bridged mode that must not be connected to a common ground. The unit's owner's manual would always include such a warning. I don't know of any mass market receivers that are of bridged design.Main System: Denon DP-59L | Audio-Technica AT33EV | Marantz SA-11S2 | Classe DR-10 | Classe CA-300 | Classe RC-1 | PSB Stratus Gold i's | DIY Balanced AC Power Conditioner | Acoustic Zen and NeoTech cables | Oyaide and Furutech power connectors | Dedicated 20A isolated ground line.
Home Theater: Toshiba D-VR5SU | Laptop #1 |Outlaw Audio OAW3 wireless audio system | Marantz SR-19 | Phase Linear 400 Series 2, modified | AudioSource 10.1 EQ (for subs) | Axiom M3 v3’s | Axiom VP150 | Optimus PRO-X55AVs | Dayton 12” powered subs (x2) | Belkin PureAV PF-60 line conditioner.
Party System: Laptop #2 | Audioquest Dragonfly USB DAC | Technics SU-A6 | Acurus A-250 | Radio Shack 15-band EQ | Pioneer SR-9 reverb | Cerwin Vega DX9's | Dayton 100° x 60° horns with titanium HF/MF compression drivers. -
Thanks. I was just windering if anyone has ever used a big Marantz on SDA speakers. And if it would work from what i remember they need to be a common ground amp & at least 50 watts....so i was wondering how they would sound if someone had lets say the Marantz 2375 which i think is 175 wpc & how it might work. I wasnt sure the receiver was a common ground. Just a thought--thanks---randy..

Boston, I have never owned Marantz receivers but I currently use a Yamaha CR 2020 receiver (105 watts) to drive my SDA 2B TL speakers and the Yamaha does a wonderful job.

Didn't you have a set of SDA 2Bs a while back? And if so, what gives? Why did you get rid of them only to buy another set just like them? Usually, people trade up when the sell SDAs or they move on to something they like even more?

Along with the rta15tl's. im sure you recall seen those for sale..YES and i should not have. I have to say im not much of a HORN lover. But i have talked my wife into getting rid of them..so im waiting to hear back on the sda's....i missed out on a local sale of a NICE marantz 2385 that sold for 700.00 which i couldnt believe.......
