I have been looking for a really good multimeter and yesterday I had the chance to get a mint Fluke 87V multimeter for the crazy amount of $ 160 shipped! I did not think it twice and I bought it right away. The meter is like new and still has the plastic on the screen. I almost got a Fluke 179 for $ 200, But I always wanted a Fluke 87 V but I did not want to spend more than $ 200 for it. Well search is over!. I will post pictures when I get it.

Thanks, those 87 V multimeters are one of the best. They are build like tanks and if they are taken care they will run forever!!!. I used to use those Fluke 87 meters in my job too, but I always wanted one for myself.Make it simple...Make it better!

Wow, makes me sad how expensive these are in Canada. Just got a new 87-V at work, and it was 460+ (with current probe, but still, way more than you paid).Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector for movies

I think $460 is a little high! I have seen these Fluke 87V for around $350 USD and Fluke 179 for around $250. I paid $160 but is "not" brand new, it is used but in mint condition. These meters are very well build and will run forever! I found a video on youtube that shows you how to check the meter and find out how many times the meter have been calibrated. as soon as I get it, I will check it, since the original owner said it was used no more than ten times and was put in the closet until now.Make it simple...Make it better! -
Cool. A multimeter is a handy tool. I wonder Fluke never adopted this as their motto.

Flukes are great. I have 4 of them. I really don't think I would trust any other brand.

I went thru 2 UEi's and 1 Amprobe the first 6 years in the HVAC trade. Then I bought a Fluke 902, and it lasted 5 years. Just bought my 2nd last summer.
A lot of techs are switching to Fieldpiece, but they're too new, and that affordablility comes at a price:cool:.I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE! -

Congrats! I just picked up another Radio Shack DMM after my first one when kaput, but a Fluke will probably be in my future after this one.
