Carpet spikes for RTI 10's

I recently picked up a pair of RTI 10's and they did not have any carpet spikes on them. I have been randomly searching for these speakers for a couple years and FINALLY found a set for $200. Are they universal or do I need a special type of spikes for these speakers?

They are replacing the RTI 6's and I have a CSI5 for the center. When I move and have a living room with a better setup, the 6's will be in the rear.

Usually the rubber covers over the spikes. Did you check to see if you can just pull off the rubber feet and if theres a spike left? So basicly the bolt that goes into the speaker is the spike and the rubber foot just slips over it.

There are actually plastic "outriggers" (don't know what else to call them?) that attach to the MDF of the speaker itself. Do you have them? The carpet spikes get screwed directly into the plastic, not into the speaker itself.

Assuming you do have them, I believe they are 1/4-20 thread. I can check mine and see exactly if you want.

By the way, $200 is a steal for those, I wish I paid even close to that for mine : / :eek:

The thread pattern is 1/4-20.

You will have to tell them you want 1/4-20 threads and a 20mm thread length.

Thanks for the help. The speakers do have the plastic outriggers, but no spikes in them. I don't need the best by any means. Just something to get them off the carpet and more stable.

For spikes to be effective on carpet, they must pierce the carpet. The ones I linked will do that even on the thickest of carpets. That said, you can buy the super cheap thin steel spikes at Parts Express, which will also pierce carpet, but they are not what one would call quality spikes.

Thanks for the help. I ended up ordering some from http://www.oregondv.com. It will be a few weeks before I am home to even see them, though.
