Japanese reciever, German reciever, American Reciever. ALL MADE IN CHINA

I was just wodering If there are any reciever or pre-amp/amplifier companies, that are designed AND made in Japan or America. Its not that big of a deal, I just find it odd that all of the ones I have looked at Onkyo/Denon/Harman-Kardon are all made in China or Malaysia.

So far I have found only one: B&K

    My Maranatz was designed and built in the USA but Tested in Japan.

    Anthem is made in Canada......(Toronto if I'm not mistaken)

    B&K, Marantz, and Anthem so far. Thats good, but are there any companies that make recievers in america(or canada, or japan) with an entry level price of less than $500. I am trying to start a home theater install company, and am trying to get wide range of products.

    Outlaw recievers are made in the USA I believe...there are others as well...yes...they are mostly tube amps/preamps though. Even my NAD is made in China... :rolleyes:

    You have to stay out of the mass market stores. Things made in china are not all bad. You just need to go with a reliable company. For mass stuff that might be less made in china, check out Sony or Sony ES/.

    Actually, Outlaw no longer makes a receiver...The 1050 is no longer in production and the 2150 (stereo receiver) is not yet ready for market. When it was in production the 1050 was made for Outlaw by Eastech in the far east...China I believe. Some of their amps are made by ATI in California but some (7100 and 200) are being made by Eastech. I'm not sure where the 2150 will be made.

    Some of Marantz's gear is made in Japan but some is also mfg. in China. NONE is mfg. in the US.

    McIntosh and Sunfire (I think) are made in the US...but then that is moving away from the 'low cost" market metioned. B&K is Mfg. in the US. I bet many of the components that go into all of the ones mentioned are made in China...no facts...just a guess.

    Sorry, "MY" Marantz (SR-8200) may not be made in the USA but their new 6 and 4 channel amps are made in New York (they are designed there by a pro audio company, I was was told they are made there but that might just be refering to the design) and tested in Japan according to Kevin Zarow at Marantz. I just typed my response a bit too soon!
