A 1970 band whos albums have been remastered and rereleased, very Sabbathy, Blue Cheer kinda stuff.

Saw Marky last night on Artie Langes tv show, he and the original drummer are the only two ramones left, (God im old).

He was tellin tales on the other guys, promoting his ramones greatest hits tour with Andrew w.k., hawkin spaghetti sauce, and had artie hold up a dust cd, just looked up a couple of their tunes online, and i might be buyin one or more of their cds.

Heres a link to a few really old men who used to rock, talking about their band, some of their http://www.markyramone.com/2013/02/dust-re-masters-coming-in-april/music can be heard

Sorry, you have to click on home page of the site that link sends you to, then scroll down, unfortunately not much music, but what there is sounds good, the two albums are on itunes and i dont do "i" anything, so i might just have to buy one.

Fun fact did you know all the ramones were just bronx and brooklyn jewish guys, Just heard that last night, thats a trip.

In matters, not one hump or two
Take care of your machine in whatever you do.

From a Dry Camel... Great stuff. Kenny Aaronson's bass on the first Dust album is outstanding.

Better than anything the Ramones ever put out, IMHO.

The original Ramones were from Queens (not Brooklyn or Bronx), at least Johnny and Joey and Dee Dee. 100% Queens.

Yeah, had the exact locales screwed up, but they were jewish guys, coming across, to me anyway, as rough, new york italian types.

Dee Dee who was a military brat, and lived all over the world, was the author of most of their songs.

I was never a big ramones fan, but i loved the attitude and style of songs.

Supposedly, dust is being promoted as americas first heavy metal band, and the ramones were a year before the pistols and other british punk bands.

I don't listen to the Ramones at all, but I do like the two Dust albums.

I am not sure where they were all born, but the Ramones grew up, met, became friends, and formed the band in Forest Hills, Queens, NY.

I saw a great documentary about the band and how they met in Forest Hills and hung out at the local housing projects, etc. They were fantastic! I saw them in London in mid-1980s and they rocked!

The internal history of the band is quite interesting as well - comical but also somewhat tragic. Johnny and Joey ended up hating each other and spent about 10 years not talking to each other because Johnny stole Joey's girlfriend (whom Johnny later married). so they would tour the country in a van, driving hours and hours going from one gig to another, and they would not talk to each other. Johnny was also a kind of right-wing fascist, politically and personality-wise, if you can imagine that in a punk rock star, and tried to control everything and everybody. And Dee Dee was a drug addict and male hustler at one time. I read a book about the band a few years ago and it was an incredible read because it revealed things I (and most fans) had no idea about. I recommend the documentary (great scenes of Queens, the lower east side Manhatten punk rock scene, CBGB, etc).

Johnny and Joey grew up in Queens. Dee Dee moved to Queens when he was 15 after traveling the world with his military father, so you can't really say he grew up there. But, yes, the band formed in Queens.

    Dig? You mean Dust?

Hard Attack isn't quite as good IMO, but still a good listen. It's a bit more "polished and produced". I haven't heard the remasters yet--will have to check them out.

Huh... That's the first I've heard of it. I always just called it Dust. Any idea what started that? I have the original vinyl, and there is no reference to "Dig".
