First Tube

So I pulled the trigger on a Rogue Metis Magnum today which will be my first step into tubes. The unit has 2 6SN7 tubes and I plan to enjoy the stock ones, but at some point try rolling some new tubes. My question is about a recommendation on replacment tubes and what does everyone use as a source for buying tubes? Thank you for your time.

congrats!!!!!!!!! I have a rogue 99 magnum pre with the 6sn7 tubes. My favorite NOS is Sylvania VT-231. Most Sylvania tubes sound good and cost factors into which models. For new production I love the Shuguang Black Treasure CV 181-Z (6sn7 equivalent)

Try some Sylvania JAN 6SN7 WGTA brown bases.If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

mcshanedesign.com or .net can't remember. I just bought some power tubes from him a few weeks ago for my Cronus Mag.
His customer service is top notch! Had to return them due to high test readings and he sent replacements very quickly.
He answers e-mails too. I love my Rogue even though I don't know squat about hi-fi. -

If you know what you're looking for ebay can be good. I've got some great NOS tubes off ebay. I like 1950's and earlier Sylvania and RCA 6SN7's but the Black Treasure CV181-Z is the best 6SN7 variant that I have heard or owned. I prefer them as driver tubes in my power amps that use them and I prefer them in my preamplifiers that use them as wellRogue Audio stereo 100 tube amplifier - Lector Zoe preamplifier with 6H30 pi's
