Interestingly look, but I would agree that they probably don't sound like anything special.

Correct me if I am wrong but is that glass enclosure basically a fancy stand?
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

I remember seeing some speakers made of really thick clear acrylic back in the late 70's. Thought they looked pretty cool, can't remember the manufacturer, and the Cerwin Vega sounded better.

I can see one of those old time "beat lights" intergrated with them. Like Fisher used to put in those old disco consouls.

about a yr ago, I bought that exact speakers on CL for $50 because they look so cool. but after taking them home, they sound really bad. very bright. almost hurting my ears just while testing them. They make my Rti speakers sound warm.
ended up selling back on CL for 125 next week.

Correct, although they would also provide some diffraction off the front baffle.

I think some companies did a glass enclosure just for showroom so people could see the inside.

I remember when Pioneer did that out of acrylic for the HPM series. They were cool looking but sound was not so good.

http://www.amazon.com/Waterfall-Audi...nding+speakers jeez, someone could just buy the look from CL & save $53,749.95. You'd have to pay shipping tho so that would add cost.
