Ask if it's got woodgrain. There's two pioneer 570's: 80's plastic one that's belt drive and crap crap crap. 70's direct drive one that's got woodgrain on it is pretty solid and worth about $200 and up depending on the precise condition.

It's probably garbage, then. $20-$30, seems to be the going price, but I would wait for something better to pop up. The 70's pioneers show up on CL all the time and they're pretty solid. I've got a PL-530 that I still use on & off. They pop up on CL frequently and you can probably score one for under $100. Since people are bad about describing things properly, the easiest thing to look for with the pioneers is whether it's got the woodgrain plinth. Those are almost all direct drive and decent performers as long as they're undamaged.

There was a black version of some of the Pioneers in the 70's. Google Pioneer PL-570x. There was also a wood grain PL-530 and black PL-530x.

I did see the later PL-570 black plastic. It has the straight tone arm instead of the S arm.

Here is a pic. Does this help? Looks like it has a straight arm and the price has dropped to $40!

Also, will this hook to my AVR via RCA cables??

Does your avr have PHONO ? If the turntable does NOT have a built in amp it will need to be hooked up to PHONO ONLY
online GOOGLE this..... Audio Technica AT-PL60 and you can get one to your doorstep for 71.00 BRAND SPANKING NEW---- its a great start up turntable. Sound is wonderful----price is right---- it has a built in amp.. You can use it on any stereo with/without PHONO-- did i forget to say BRAND NEW-- yes it is 30.00 more. But what to heck

Heck you can hook it to your TV without a stereo and use this turntable. I have owned one and there not too bad.....there is a button on the back
Hook up to phono-- or --hook it to any other rca port (cd-tape-accs)......i apologize. I just read up your receiver HAS phono. So you should be good to go

I apoligize..i misunderstood your question..if that unit doesnt already have cables with it. Yes i would think you would use rca cables to hook it up. As i have a Technics that is like that..the Pioneer looks to be clean from what the picture you provided....the receiver you have is a TANK from what i read up on it. It must do a great job also......

I'm going to give the guy a call about it. If its got RCA jacks (which I'm sure it probably does). I'm hoping someone can chime to tell me if its the better one since it has the straight arm and direct drive. I also hope it has the 45 attachment. Oh, and yes, my Onk has Phono inputs! And yes, it is indeed a Beast!! I'm nothing but pleased with it!
