Dual amps

I have some 12 year old Polk speakers and they are connected to my NAD amp, can I connect a sound surround amp to these speakers without unhooking my NAD?
Why or why not?
Both amps aren't very powerful.
If so, is there a special way?
I'd like to use the Polks for my front speakers when watching movies.
Thanks

I'm not sure I understand, are you asking if you can use the NAD along with a surround amp?Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

This question has me baffeled???

Not to put words in his mouth but I think he means that he wants to use both amps but not at the same time. His question is will this damage the amps if they are both connected to the polks but only one is on at a time.Graham

That is correct

Yes you will damage the amps and probably the speakers too.
Doesn't the NAD have more than 1 input?
If not, you could always use an A/B box.- Sony 50"A3000 SXRD; Onkyo TX-SR 805
- Polk RTi150 mains; CSi30 center; FXi3 surrounds, R15 backs
- Velodyne CHT-12 subwoofer -
Why both amps??????????
