Polk Monitor 7c vs Polk SDA CRS Opinions needed
I have a pair of Polk 7B's with the Peerless tweeter and like them but have a chance to get a pair of SDA CRS in very good condition. This version has the two Peerless tweeters in each speaker. If the CRS can be placed within 10 inches of the back wall(on good metal stands), they would save me space in my small apartment. I did not buy them yet but I would like a little feedback on both. I do not have room for both so it's one or the other. I am a trained pianist and appreciate midrange accuracy. I listen exclusively to Jazz and Classical music.

What are you going to be using them for specifically? Will you be using them for 2-channel listening? if so get the CRS's.

People here don't like the two tweeters version of CRS compared to one tweeter CRS+.
However, they are Polk SDA's so if price is right, get them.
They should be definitely better than 7's.
10" from back wall is enough but they also need few feets on their sides.
My CRS+ are much better than 7's.

Looks like I am going to go for them and pick them up tomorrow . What is it that makes the CRS+ so much better than the CRS? Also, am I correct in assuming that the CRS have two Peerless tweeters. Thought the Peerless was the preferred tweeter in terms of upper range smoothness in all Polk Speaker models that use them. Again, I will be using these for two channel listening only and hope the upper range of the CRS will not be overly bright.

Personally I have never seen any SDA's that came with the peerless tweeter. You may be mistaking the SL1000 as a peerless but it is not.... looks close but nope. -
The SL1000 looks like the peerless but is a silver metallic color instead of the flat black of the peerless. Performance is more similar to the peerless than the SL2000 which is a good thing. Most feel the double dimensional tweeter can be more distracting than the dimensional drivers. I have a pair with the dual tweeters and think you will enjoy them more than the 7's which I have also had.2-ch System: Parasound P/LD 2000 pre, Parasound HCA-1000 amp, Parasound T/DQ Tuner, Phase Technology PC-100 Tower speakers, Technics SL-1600 Turntable, Denon 2910 SACD/CD player, Peachtree DAC iT and X1asynchorus USB converter, HSU VTF-3 subwoofer.
