WRONG PICTURE. SORRY
NOT 10's

NOT SURE IF I MESSED UP--(below) - FIRST OFF

I CALLED POLK THIS AFTERNOON. TALKED TO TECH. ASKED ABOUT REPLACEMENT WOOFERS FOR MONITOR 7's. he said they are discontinued.... Ive heard some talk here that they still have them..there is no b on the tag on back so it does say Monitor series 7..did i mess up model. Or maybe they are discontinued ?

Also are monitor 4 & 5jr's drivers the same as i have these as spares

Any feedback is great. Thanks
randy

OK wait my bad, I understand your original post that this is the wrong pic above. It was unclear to me what you were saying at first. Could you please post some pics of the 7s with shots of the fronts without the grills and the tag on the back by the speaker terminals?

Have you pulled the drivers to get a number?
Ask for Helen or Kim at Polk CS they know their stuff.

Yeah, they should be MW6502s in the Monitor 7s, but as others have said, you've gotta pull one out and check it to be sure.

Most of the Monitor 4s and 5jrs also used the 6502s, so you might be in luck for spares.

Randy, that MW may have been replaced already, with the wrong driver. You might want to pull the one from the other speaker too, just to be sure. All the Monitor 7 schematics show the MW6502 being used: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?38755-POLK-AUDIO-Speaker-Wiring-Schematics-amp-More-ALL-MODELS-except-SDA

The 6503 is a popular driver, too bad it's dead.. The originals fetch $30-$40

So i will check other one....if it is a 6503 should i ask about those? Or should i put 2 6502's in them.....one of the speakers is fine. Just one driver is out of adjustment/spent/froze-up.... Are the 6503's a better driver than the 2's---all my other speakers i asume are 2's and they sound fine NOW....ive had a bad spell with shiped monitors--but thats coming to a end

Someone probably swapped out the 6502 for a 6503, thinking they all looked the same so they must be the same. They likely did that following a magnet shift on the original 6502. That can happen sometimes, I've heard.

Great. Because i want them to last me awhile. They are a perfect size, not too big-not too small-for a Yamaha cr820 ---- these monitors are built pretty good. Easy to work on too..i hope soon to upgrade tweeters & maybe even xovers..its kinda fun....thanks alot guys. Ill pull n call them back. Im not talking to same person. I sure hope they have the 6502's as ive been told they possible did.......thanks. Randy
