Anyone notice how terribly slow Youtube has gotten of late? It's to the point I can't watch anything. Just talked to a friend and he was asking about it as well. Said he can't watch anything either. I Googled it and saw some complaining out there about. Figure I'd post in here to get some thoughts.
No excuses!

It's sporadic. One theory I've heard, is that the ISP's are throttling bandwith?

I doubt it. I have noticed sometimes if I reload the page, it works fine.

Nope, haven't noticed a change - are you sure the issue's not with your 'pute - or maybe the bandwidth from your ISP at peak times?

This also helps me! Not all of us, in the boondocks, have access to fiber optic lines like those close to or in Metro areas?

I live out in the boondocks and I have fiber! Part of the rural development act, they ran almost nine miles of fiber for four houses on my cable. Couldn't believe they actually did it. I want to thank you all for helping to support my broadband connection. No problems with YouTube or any of the other streaming services.

Apparently this issue is centered around Verizon FIOS customers. I have a 50/25 connection and even a 240p video is painful to watch. This is the ONLY site I have issues with. I wound up posting a message on Verizon FIOS's Facebook page regarding this. I'm going to submit a helpdesk ticket as well. Here's a thread I found...

As that article states, it isn't an ISP issue since TWC, etc. are reporting the same problem.
I checked my internet speed yesterday, and the there was an ad for Chrome, stating it was a faster browser? Does browser speed affect streaming?
I'm using IE9 right now, and am wondering if FF users are having this issue?

IE in general has always been a bloated web browser. Switch to Firefox or Chrome. Since I'm on a Mac, I use Safari and love it.

Funny thing on the way to work today. Was listening to a local radio station and the guy started going off on...Youtube slowness on his FIOS connection. I got to work before any callers could chime in on it though, but thought it was funny that he mentioned it.
    No excuses!
