I happen to really like my ADC 303ax speakers. They have a very east coast close to an AR2a sound.Bass is more than adiquit and surrounds are cloth so that's not an issue .What is happening I think 1 tweeter is going. Now the question is do you just replace the beat tweeter or if lucky enough to find a set just go out and change both if affordable.

The 2nd question is about you tube guys. I have heard that handling tubes can be tricky and the best way would to use the white glove treament so not to get hand oils on them.Is this always true or do some of you just pull and plug?

The tube question could be answered - people do it both ways. The glove treatment is to prevent the transfer of oils from your hands to the glass with the thought being these oil deposit areas will not dissipate heat as well and you can create focal hot areas on the glass. This may cause possible issues. I use gloves usually because I am handling tubes that are still slightly warm as well as the clean aspect. A nice cloth can also work well. In the hay day of tubes when my father worked for Hickok designing and marketing tube testers he just used the bare hand technique. If you are rolling any NOS tubes the cloth or glove gentle handling can help preserve some of the very delicate labeling on the tubes if that is important to you. I purchased the set of the gloves I use from Dedicated Audio for around $12.00

It would be preferred to replace any drivers (tweeters included) in stereo pairs so the sound does not differ left to right. If the other tweeter is in good condition, you should not hear any difference between it and a new one after the break-in period.
