Hurricane Nuts?

Hello Polk Collective,

I am in the process of redoing my 7C's and was wondering if any of you used Hurricane nuts for refastening the drivers/tweets/passives. They seem simpler than T-Nuts as I think T-Nuts would be easier to damage the older wood of the Polks. I don't have any of the rings that so many of you use so I'm looking for a better solution than the old wood screws.

I plan on purchasing new foam tape for everything and once I get the crossovers to Trey (and back) don't plan on ever taking them apart again. I mean, these are almost 30 years old now so I don't foresee any problems for the next 30.

My first "partial" rebuild, next will be my 2A's. However, the expense on these will be a lot cashier!
