Happy as a clam yes I am

I have spent a few dollars on audio equipment since joining this club. However todays purchase makes me as happy/excited as any of previous purchases. Funny thing is that it didn't cost me much at all :cheesygrin:

I bought a Marantz 2238B receiver and a Harman/Kardon 3250 with remote for $125.00

The Marantz is in pretty damn good shape and after I clean it up I'll post pictures. All lights work and things look pretty good. I am going to hook it up to my MF A5 CDP and Sonus Faber GPD's later today for a tune session.

The Marantz can't compete with the Belles amp and Anthem pre2l but I am sure I won't be disappointed.

I hope  I am not going down another rabbit hole with vintage gear  Anne Marie did say the HK is far better looking than the Marantz but what does a woman know :loneranger:

Rhode Island has the best beaches on the east coast by the way.

Do you ever get down this way? We spent some time in Maine last year and I have to say it is a beautiful state and great people.

We stopped at a place called Rats to buy steamers and I have to say they were the finest steamers I have ever eaten. I have had the luxury to eat some of the finest and that was the best.

I better get back to cleaning up the Marantz and a few beers so I can post pictures.

We'll expect your report any minute now.

I love the classic Marantz look - used to collect the brochures in the 70's as a kid dreaming about owning one myself.....sigh....

H9: If you don't trust what you are hearing, then maybe you need to be less invested in a hobby which all the pleasure comes from listening to music.

Watching the end of the Masters and the Red Sox having a few so don't hold your breath on the review.

I am seriously thinking about buying a pair of Bose 901's series 4 5 or sixes just because I can and they were the speakers I ran down rabbit hole. I never knew back in the 70's but a happy as a clam now

Just finished hooking it up to my Musical Fidelity A5 CDP and I have a pair of Sonus Faber Grand Piano Domus Speakers
when I learned about the Boston Marathon Blast so my joy went right out the F ing window.

I do hate the direction MY country is going.
