What are your favorite music box sets (on CD)?

I am a fan of music box sets and wonder which box sets people really like a lot.
I like a lot, in all different genres, but, just to pick a few, here are some I really like:

Santana - Dance of the Rainbow Serpent (3 CDs)
Grateful Dead - Europe 72 (22 shows, 73 CDs)
John Coltrane: The Classic Quartet Complete Impulse Studio Recordings (8 CDs)
Ornette Coleman - Beauty Is A Rare Thing: The Complete Atlantic Recordings (6 CDs)

Beatles Mono Box set- would have preferred the stereo set but got a fantastic deal on the mono. Picked up several of the individual CD's in stereo so all is good.
The Doors Perception CD/DVDA set is also pretty good

Hello, gudnoyez. I didn't even know this album set even existed until now. Thank you, as I am a fan of Little Feat. How would you rank the recording quality sound and how many takes would you say are/were recorded live? Any songs not included on other albums that are noteworthy or really stand out?

Yesterday I picked up a great CD music box set at a local vintage CD/record store:

Chick Corea: Music Forever & Beyond: The Selected Works of Chick Corea, 1964-1996.

It is a 5-disc set. The sound quality is superb, the music is incredible, and the packagaing and booklet are all first-rate.
    I highly recommend it.

Great music...and I still use "Lets Groove" as a midbass test song.

Generally I'm not a huge fan of box sets. I tend to listen to music more in album form and alot of box sets end up re-arranging songs and break up the flow of the original album. There are a few exceptions but for the most part I don't have many, I could not imagine listening to something like Dark Side of the Moon in anything other than album form, and alot of my favorite music is like that.

The boxsets I do have tend to just lump the original albums together in a box so the original album order is preserved.

Tom I'am sure you have already looked into this, but since this thread has been revived, there are demos some live versions, and different takes on some of your favorites. The recordings are well recorded, and I have listened to this many times, a enjoyable listen. If you have not got it yet you should.
