Well it's done in a nice way. But he still gets them in there. One of the Cons was size, really, I say what?

Over the past decade or so Polk Audio has slowly shifted their focus from mid/upper tier audio to mid/lower tier products

As Polk has brought down the price points of their speakers, their reputation in the audiophile community has also steadily lessened as well.

I hate reviewing products like the LSiM 703s for two reasons. First, they make me look bad. A reviewer is supposed to be critical about a product, but what am I supposed to do when there’s little that’s bad to talk about? Writing only positive reviews could ruin my reputation. Second, I don’t want to send back good products. I would be happy with the company making a clerical error and somehow leaving the product here for an extended period of time (are you listening Polk??). So, not only do I look uncritical by writing up a great review, I am also left empty handed when I send the speakers back to the manufacturer. What can I say? The LSiM 703 speakers look great, sound great, and are reasonably priced. I think they are an excellent bookshelf speaker and would gladly recommend them. I hope you’re happy Polk, you’ve ruined my day.

    Sounds Very positive to me...

You have a weird idea on what constitutes a slam. Since he basically said if Polk forgot to ask for them back he would keep them!
Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

I was thinking the same thing.

Does a perfect speaker and a perfect speaker company exist? I doubt it. Everything has its faults. The reviewer did point out some minor issues, and he said that is typically what reviewers try to do. However, he was abundantly pleased with the speaker, and had a hard time finding anything to be really negative about. So I don't think "slammed" fits the description. Sounded like a great view IMO.

Reviewers have to come up with something to object to or else they might be accused of being a fanboy or not knowing what they're talking about.
When an objection is that if they were any bigger, they might not fit on his stands ..... well, that's not too bad.
And, as others have pointed out, he hopes that Polk overlooks the fact that he has them so he can keep them.
Nope, not a bad review at all.

I wouldn't call this a slam considering WHERE this review APPEARS!

You DO know that AUDIOHOLICS "loves" themselves some Polks (NOT) right? This review is an "anomaly", maybe the boys are softening up or the LSiMs are just too "GOOD" for them to pull their usual "nonsense" out of the bag!

It's based on a long review on the Audioholics site with this conclusion, which amounts to a glowing review:

There is one very good negative comment the author made, which is that Polk's packaging still sucks for shipping as they put styrofoam top and bottom but nothing to protect the sides of the speakers.
