I need a receiver for a very audio challenged buddy of mine. I'm giving him a pair of speakers and a CD player. But I have no spare receiver. This will be for a garage set up. So nothing fancy is needed. Just something that'll make noise. Budget is around $125 shipped to 30668. A subwoofer preout would be a big plus. Cause I may hook him up with an old Energy sub I have in storage.

I have a Yamaha VX-1400 that I am looking to selling. I have the remote and the unit. I could do less than $125 with shipping (total amount depends what shipping will be).

Is it a VX or RX? Seems I am not seeing much on the VX-1400.

I have an old Sansui Z80 reciever that has been in storage for 6 years. It could power my Crown ess 212's (4 10 inch woofers and 24 electrostatic panels) and my timewindows at the same time when the Sony's would just click off. It is not worth shipping though.

    All -
I have a 10+ Y.O. Technics SADX-930, with original remote and manual, probably the box too but not sure.
100wpc x 5 all day long, sub out, very user-friendly. Never drove anything but a pair of R50s, a center and surrounds, and never to ear bleeding levels, plus it was always used with a powered sub. I could probably do $100 with shipping. It has not been used for awhile, but I would test it out first.

I also have a Denon AVR-2106, 6+ years old, also 100wpc x 5, complete with everything except mic for calibration, unless I can locate it. This replaced the Technics above, so was used much the same way, except this has pre-outs so I used an Adcom to power the fronts. This was $600 new, so I'd like to get about $150/shipping for this.

I would rate both units as solid 8/10, maybe a bit less due to age? I can easily send some pix if anyone is interested. Feel free to PM or email me if you have any questions.

So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?
