This was the best solution to the issue??? If I was on that flight, I'd be pissed.

Still glad I don't flyI refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

Me thinks the pilot over-reacted.Political Correctness'.........defined

I blame the pilot more than the family, but a simple blanket over the seat back would have solved the entire thing...

These monitors dangle from the ceiling, not the seat back, and are viewed by multiple people. Maybe a blanket could be taped to the screen if they had tape?
The family asked for the screen to be turned off. Told no, they asked if the movie could be changed, told no. Then they asked if the pilot could address the issue. His response was to divert the entire flight. Stupid crew. -
Parents shd have diverted the attention of the kids. they will grow up as belly-achers. the pilot did over do it too

I don't think the parents were out of line at all.

Yep, in that sort of situation it's hard to please everyone. Parents were correct in at least asking if something could be done but the airline blew it. This system plays the movie for all to see, but you have to pay to hear it. If nobody infront of the kids was watching the movie, say for at least 5 rows, they could have just turned the monitor off and the kid wouldn't be able to see over the back rests of the other seats at the farther monitors. In my opinion, your a captive audience when you fly, and airlines can't bend to every whim, please everyone. They could try at least to accomadate those with children and not view any requests as a threat to the planes safety. Lessons learned here by both parties.HT SYSTEM-
