A Real Tube Amp....finally!!

I got a delivery from Russ today, A fantastic Aintique Sound Labs AQ-1002DT!! (http://clubpolk.polkaudio.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9832)

Althought I haven't had a lot of time to listen to it I can state that it blows the P.O.S. DIY tube amp that I bought out of the water! I'm looking forward to spending some more time with this amp and both the Lsi9's and the SDA-2b's. So far All I've had a chance to listen to is the SDA's, and the sound is pretty incredible.

Russ, I can't thank you enough for letting me try out the amp. It's a keeper!!

    Sounds great Frank! I trust you'll be posting a review in the near future?

    Any word from the DIY seller yet?

    Did Russ let you borrow the amp or did you buy it off him?

    It should be a lot of fun comparing the LSi and SDA on the tubes. I have a feeling you may like the SDA more through the tubes. You can really hear the tube magic from more efficient speakers. I prefer the 800i over my LSi9 with my Dyna amp.

    I put the latest info about the ist amp in my tube nightmare thread.

    I will post a longer review after I've had a chance to do some critical listening with the SDA's and 9's. It might be a while though, work and holidays have me pretty busy right about now.

    Russ shipped the amp to me with no strings attached. How cool is that?!? :)

    I've already let him know that I'm keeping it!!

    Let us know what you think. With the LSi's I don't expect any real wow's. They need more power. With the SDA's the tubes may be fairly impressive. Either way, let us know.
