my newest pursuit(or so i hope) the lada niva 4x4

Lots of research going on over here, as my friend offered to sel this to me for $200. Theyre very capable off road, some have even given them better off road reviews than jeep, land rover, and land cruisers of their time and some of today for that matter, but not the greatest on good roads(good thing the roads her still have potholes from WWII mortar fire). It's a small russian SUV about the size of a crossover SUV. Always 4x4, manual 5 speed, 3 door. Dont have the engine or power specs on hand, not anything that would stand out, but it does a lot with it. Parts are very cheap, and easily available. I hope the other interested parties dont beat me to it, as im waiting till payday(this friday) to jump on it. I think with a Russian girl riding shotgun, and a little tlc to the inside, and mud for the outside, this will be a very fun little truck.

    If you like and know how to tinker with (i.e. repair) cars and actually go off-roading, go for it. Fun car, zero luxury.

    She loves it, mainly because i now have transportation angain, lol. Ordered the new CV'S with propeller shaft today, along with new tranny mounts, a new fuel filter, and a new oil cap, gonna try to find the hose for the oil pump locally, it sprays oil, but it runs smooth without any, but keep 4 liters in the back anyway, top it off every monday morning. lucky for me, its a 4x4, because when its in 3, its front wheel, but the fronts dont connect to the drivetrain right now, so i stick to the roads for now, aside from the occaisional gravel/mud parking lot donuts. Looking to get a weber carb and a volumex supercharger from some fiat/lancia 2.0 sports, if i can track them down at the 18 junkyards down the road, those will be got as i find them because i dont know if i will find them again. the gearbox will be refurbed or replaced as well as the transfer case, as they kinda grind at times, although that should happen less often once theyre mounted right. Chum, i plan to have lots of fun, got it running alot smoother thanks to a jug of oil, a can of seafoam, a grease gun, and a bottle of DOT4, now to find the rihght oil filter and order a K&N air filter, should help the performance out a bit, the air filter now has been pretty well used.

    confused this truck with another one, not always 4x4, also its roughly a 1600 cc putting out about 70 BHP, carbeurated ,FWD,

    They're still not here, plus I blew the fuse for the ignition when some wires shorted, the stereo had been removed(before my ownership) and the wires to the ignition got moved when the harness was disconnected, the steering column ate those right up
