The DQ 10s are getting scarcer and prices are going up. Price is dependent on condition, of course, and also a mirror imaged pair with yellow caps goes for more. I would say that a fair price for the ones listed would be $400-$450. They look to be in nice condition, have the woofers refoamed (a must), are the more desirable mirror imaged pair with yellow caps, have stands, etc. It really all depends on how badly you want them and how much you are willing to pay. But those look to be very nice. If you can get them at or below the price quoted, I'd say that is a pretty good deal. And if you really want them, I'd say anywhere up to $500 would be ok if seller won't take less but I think $400 would be a good number to shoot for. I have a pair of DQ 10s myself.

If you like the vintage Polk/ads/KEF sound, you'll like them. They are respectable but not worth - as far as I am concerned - the money they fetch.

Mr. H,
I've found a reverence for your vintage equipment knowledge . . . Your thoughts on a fair price for these DQ 10s?
Thank you sir!

I just wanted to add that I was disappointed with the sound of the DQ 10s myself but I do not know if my experience is unique and it also may have been due to the fact that I was using only a 100 watt receiver to drive the DQ 10s and everybody tells me that the DQ 10s need a lot of power (at least 200 watts) to really open them up and make them sing. The are very power-hungry speakers so you will need a power amp with at least 200 watts to drive them. I was driving my DQ 10s with my vintage Yamaha CR 2020 receiver. I bought the DQ 10s a little over a year ago because I had heard so many great things about them. They really have a cult following and there are quite a few people who will tell you the DQ 10s are "the greatest sounding speakers of all time," for what that is worth. I found a pair a few hours away at a decent price and so just could not pass up getting them and hearing them. I got them home, hooked them up, and I was disappointed. They do have amazing clarity and soundstage. The probably image better than any speaker I have heard. You can hear things (like cymbal hits) that you cannot on other speakers. That is their strength. But, overall, I found them to be dull, not lively and not dynamic at all. And they lack some bass. I played my DQ 10s for a few days but went back to my Polk Monitor 10As because, for me, the Monitor 10As were just more lively and dynamic than the DQ 10s although they did not have the clarity and imaging of the DQ 10s. I have put my DQ 10s aside and in fact am trying to sell them. That does not mean they are a bad speaker. They do lots of things amazingly well. And they are probaly best for classical music and jazz and that type of music. It also may be that my receiver was not powerful enough to really open them up and so perhaps I have never heard what they can really sound like. So take my experience and comments for what they are worth. I would at least recommend that you listen to a pair yourself and see what you think. I have since moved on from my Monitor 10As and bought a pair of SDA 2B TL speakers three months ago and those are amazing. They are my speakers for life. I agree with mhardy's comments that the DQ 10s are overpriced and not worth what people are asking for them. For the price of DQ 10s, you can get some amazing SDA speakers. That is what I would recommend.

I think the 10's had a optional sub for bass. I have not heard a set but, I have been told the Dq 20's were a bit better.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

I would think a pair is worth 250 to 400 smackers depending on condition - more if rehab'bed, excellent cosmetically, and with stands.
There was also a matching subwoofer - although modern opinion states that with enough power driving the DQ-10s, the subwoofer may not be necessary.
