Hello,
Here's a true audio classic, a vacuum tube based Marantz 7C full preamp that's on the bench for some power supply service and a general sprucing up. Beautiful construction and great wiring layout. Those six 12AX7 tubes are beautiful looking Telefunkens and only work to advance the level of audio appreciation. Right now it's distortion is too high and the power supply voltages are too low.
Enjoy, Ken

Beautiful piece! I'm sure you will be having it sing pretty very soon. I've got an old Fisher console that has 6 of the Telefunken 12AX7's in the pre amp section and it sounds very nice considering the age and speakers fitted to it.2-ch System: Parasound P/LD 2000 pre, Parasound HCA-1000 amp, Parasound T/DQ Tuner, Phase Technology PC-100 Tower speakers, Technics SL-1600 Turntable, Denon 2910 SACD/CD player, Peachtree DAC iT and X1asynchorus USB converter, HSU VTF-3 subwoofer.

That's really a work of art, right there! Very nice!

You wouldn't live near the dump then. Think about it. -

WOW! The Marantz 7C is a work of art. I have never heard one.
A friend of mine who has worked on a couple of these told me the 7C was a bit dry and lifeless when compared to the Scott 130. The 7C in great condition will cost over $4K. The Scott can be had for much less. Some believe it's the collector value of the 7C and it's appearance that dictate the market price.
Ken, no thread jack intended. I love Marantz and it's a dream of mine to own a 7C that is the condition of the one you are working on.Carl -
PS Ken, dust the underside of those equalizer slide knobs for the owner. :cheesygrin:Carl
