I thought about it, I live pretty close to one of the megaplexes. But the thoughts of lining up in a 40 degrees F for a 12:01am showing, are too much for me....so, I will be there on a 1:00 pm showing that afternoon instead....I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Going to have some friends over on Friday to watch the FOTR & TT Extendeds and head out on Saturday to watch ROTK at a brand NEW Theater nearby. Should be good times...
-
12:01 AM WEDNESDAY MORNING BABY.
Already bought tickets, this is gonna be the movie of the year, not to mention my sister and dad are also both psyched to to see it.
Can't wait! -
I would be going out at midnight on Wednesday, but, gat damned finals. Probably not too wise to go to a midnight movie, get back three hours later, stay awake for god knows how long because it was too awesome, and then get up at 8 to tank a final. I guess I will have to wait the 20 hours or so and watch it after work, later on Wednesday. Its going to be great!

2hours and 45minutes ago i came home from one of my greatest movie experience ever

JohnNo excuses! -
I'll do like I did with TTT. I'll wait until early next year when the theaters are much less crowded. I'm sure it's good, but no way am I going to battle lines, crowd's and rude people. Besides, Big Fish is opening soon and that's #1 on my list for a trip to the theater.
Peace Out~:DIf...

I have to wait until 4:55 PM tomorrow. Already have my tickets. After a huge shipping *&%$-up by Overstock.com. I just received my Two Towers EE. I watched it Saturday night and I'm just jonesin' for ROTK!

Ladies and gentlemen, spectacular, spectacular. -
Just got home from my friends house after watching Lotr, RotK...All i have to say is simply spectacular....ive been waiting for the 3rd installment for sooo long it seems. It was so good that im actually depressed its over, and that the story doesnt go on. The entire time...all i could think of was....when is this coming out on dvd. I think not till november of next year for the extended cut., but im not possitive...Sadly though, the theater i was in kinda was low quality it seemed, i think my home theater spoiled me as far as picture/sound quality go. By the time this movie is released in november, ill have put at least another grand into my home theater hopefully...i need an svs because some of the battle scenes have some lllloooowww frequencies. The battle scene in rotk...made the helms deep battle in the two towers look like a tiny swordfight. Not only did this movie rock out some insane battle scenes and visual/audio effects...it had the saddest ending to a movie that i have ever seen. Im 22 years old, but ill be the first to admit I was a hair away from sobbing like a little girl. Half the theater was crying at the end....everyone here that appreciated the first 2 movies MUST SEE THIS. Best of the first 3 by far!! Well i gotta go to bed, its 5:20 am...the movie was nearly 3 hours and 45 minutes. Goodnight all, and happy watching!Onkyo Tx-Sr700

Rumor has it that the EE of RotK will be out in April with an added 1 hour + of footage. I'll see if I can find the interview with Jackson that stated that info.
If it is that soon, April. I will skip the theaterical run all together and wait for the EE DVD.
Peace Out~:DIf...

OK, a minor correction. It seems the theaterical DVD will be out in April or May with the EE DVD streeting in August or September. This small quote came from CNN.
http://www.cnn.com/2003/SHOWBIZ/Movies/12/15/film.rings.jackson.ap/index.html
AP: "Return of the King" is about 3 hours, 20 minutes long. Yet you cut a lot ...
JACKSON: We cut about an hour and 5 minutes. The books are so filled with detail and character, but we came to realize that even what we shot would be too long for what these theatrical cuts could sustain.
So, we may see that 1hr. 5 min. added back in for the EE DVD.
Peace Out~:DIf...

Makes sense that ROTK will be released earlier, since there is nothing to "hype up" for November 2004.Mains: polkaudio RTi70's (bi-wired)

I bet the SVS team would love to see this. Get an SVS because of one scene in one movie. Hey, now that I have one, I think it's a GREAT idea and believe it is TOTALLY justifiable!Mains: polkaudio RTi70's (bi-wired)

I read recent quotes, being that PJ is working hard on the ROTK EE, that it will be close to 5 hours.... Will see!!!!
And I guess he IS going to do King Kong for sure now. -
I've decided to wait for the EE DVD of RotK. This is a tough choice, but these EE DVD's are clearly Jacksons visions and what he wants us to see. Both FotR and TTT EE DVD's are hands down much better then their weaker theatrical counter parts.
After being floored by the TTT EE DVD I cannot go to the theater and see a chopped up version of RotK. I'm sure it's excellent, but it's not complete.
If the theatrical run is 3 hours 15 min. and he has cut 1 hour 5 min, that is a hell of a lot of cut footage. That's like missing 25% of the movie if you see the theaterical run.
It'll be tough to wait, but I'm going to try.
Scott, his Special Effects crew has been working on Kong for 6 months now. Also, I read that Newline has bought the rights to "The Hobbit". But, Jackson said he has yet to be brought in for talks. He did say he'd love to do it though.

I can't see anything or anyone that will stop PJ from doing the Hobbit........ I hope it happens!!!

Just got back from seeing ROTK. Wow, what a fantastic movie. There are two scenes that are basically back to back near the end that will rival or exceed the famed Ring drop scene.
After seeing this trilogy this is hands down the best trilogy of all time. Star Wars is a very far distant second IMHO. PJ has set the standards of how epic books made into movies should be made.
The only dissapointment was there were very noticable CGI parts in the film. Where as the first two I could not really remember seeing blatant effects. But considering what had to be acomplished at Minas Tirith you would expect some minor flaws. But I am really nit picking here.
Looking forward to the EE. -

This is the only trilogy where it warrants a trip to the movies, the theatrical purchase, and the EE purchase. When it's done, it's done, and I want to do it right. The EE version can only be appreciated fully after first viewing the theatrical version."What we do in life echoes in eternity"

Went to see it yesterday morning, line was pretty long but wasn't bad at all (everyone behave, no bruises...). Great presentation and SQ is much better than PQ. I can't wait for the "missing" part on the EE when it comes out.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I did not see FotR in the theater and experienced it first in my HT. I did see TTT theatrically. I prefer to see these (and most all movies) in my HT. TTT in the theater was a nice experience overall, but viewing the theatrical DVD at home was a greater experience and much more enjoyable.
I won't rent, I will buy the theatrical DVD and yes, I may watch it, I don't know yet. I will fight it off as long as I can. What I do know is that I will wait for the DVDs. No trip to the theater for this one.
Big Fish and The Passion of the Christ are the only two movies I must see theatrically as I cannot wait for the DVDs.

Yes, the first two sucked (PQ and SQ) in the movie theater, but like you (with BF and POC), I simply cannot wait for the DVD; I've gotta see it.
These are the only movies in three years I have seen at the theatre. It's nice because it's a progressive improvement each time one is released - the theater experience is the worst, the theatrical DVD experience on HT is far better, and the EE DVD experience on HT is the ultimate expression of the movie. I've always got something to look forward to when I start at the bottom and move up."What we do in life echoes in eternity"

First responce from a newbie in my HT:
"Wow, this is better than the theater."
My responce:
"No $h*t Sherlock!!!!!" -
Yeah....Plus you can't pause a movie to take a piss and get more beer at the movie theatre.
