Today it rained. We haven't had one like this in a couple of years. Have a cousin wholives about 1/4 mile east of me, who called me around 2:30 this afternoon, and told me it was coming down hard. Had quarter size hail falling, and it had only started a short while ago.
About 5 miles from home, I ran into this little squal. Normally the speed limit is 70 mph, but I was doing about 15, and could only see 10 feet or so ahead. Whan I finally got to the little trailer court I call home, there was about a foot and a half of water over this low water crossing. That's an anomily in Texas where they build a bridge lower than the actual road. In this case, over what some would call a dry creek, but most would call a drainage ditch. The low water crossing is about 2 feet above the ditch.
So the road was closed, and a spent a couple of hours at the cousins house. WHen I arrived home, about 5:00, I looked at my unofficial weather gauge. It's just a small igloo cooler, 18-pack size, that I was too ;azy to bring inside last week. It had about 4 inches of water in it. We had a lot of water falling here in 3 short hours. Maybe we'll actually drop to the lower end of severe, or even all the way to the simple drought stage now.

I'll deal with it. The temperature here is twice what weather.com say the temperature feels like there currently

Wanna come visit?
I was stationed there for a year.I think it was Jan, but I was caught in the coldest rain Ive ever felt. You can keep that place. LOL -
Seattle apparently was rumored to have a way-above average suicide rate, oddly enough, it really doesn't. I know that I'd be tempted to end it all if I lived in such dreary-assed weather for any length of time.

Those ice rocks looks like a lump of smaller hailstones melted together by the rain, while lying flat on the ground. Could be wrong, but even the smaller hailstones look to be 3/4". Nasty stuff for sure!!!Carl
