Oh no. I was told today that the RDO194 tweeters, which is the tweeter replacement for the 10B, is no longer available !!!

Strangely though I tried to get a set last month (March) and was informed that they are still available but Polk was waiting for them to come in. They were supposed to be available in early April. I called this morning to order a set and the gentlemen in the parts department said they were not going to be available - ever again!

So this brings up an interesting question...What the heck am I supposed to do now? Are there any other alternatives? Does Polk monitor these forums? Does anyone want to buy my Polk 10B's? The tweets that are in them today (SL2000's) are still good but I was hoping to upgrade to the RDO194's. Argh!!! Not looking good at all.

OK - So that sounds like what the first lady I spoke to in sales told me earlier last month. Now someone in parts tells me today that they are not available.

How did you get your information regarding the parts being on back-order if you don't mind me asking?

I'll wait to the end of the month if that's the case but I don't want to wait in vain needlessly.

    Thanks

I just called Polk and asked about a replacement tweeter for the sl2000. I was told the RDO-194 tweeter would be in stock on April the 10th. To me this thread appears to be an ad for the sale of a pair of 10B speakers.

    Hello,
I just checked with Polk and they have plenty of the RD0194-1 in stock, in fact 132 to be precise. Not sure what the problem was, sometimes the wrong part number gets entered when a rep is searching and gets an erroneous result.
    Cheers, Ken

I don't know what is going on. I just called and was told they would arrive April 10 and the price would be $60. The last ones I bought were $48. Maybe a new guy on the job? I should have asked for his name.

welcome to the forum. Good luck with the tweets. It looks like you should be able to call back and get the tweets you need at this point.

That's funny TennMan but it just might be if I can't find something that works. Looks like this may be a case of cust rep error. I'll try again.

So....Finally spoke to someone who could help over at Polk. It appears the dilemma had to do with how the rep was putting the information into the system (pretty much what Ken had surmised). The RD0194 would come up as superseded with a different part number in their system and that was causing a glitch making it look like the original part was no longer available (or something to that extent)

So it looks like the part is available and I now have a set on the way from Vista, CA.

Thanks to those who helped verify availability.

I haven't even begun to start buying spare parts for my speakers. This kind of news is uneasy if it were true albeit I wouldn't use those tweets but none the less... If only I had the income like some of you.
