I was thinking that it may simply be too much for entrenched people to say thanks to the OP for just maybe going out of his comfort zone, trying an amp, pleased with the results compared to his prior amps, and posting about it.

Pot meet kettle then I guess. What have you contributed?
So I'm a troll because I pointed out the obvious? As far as I am concerned the OP tried doing the community at large here a solid by trying out an amp.
And for his efforts he gets crapped on? That is really messed up. -

While I understand many of the forum members have used pro amps in the past with usually poor results. [leaving a bad stigma]
These XLS Crowns are not even in the same ballpark as most that came before them. Just the fact these have a S/N Ration of 103db should let you know these are not typical PA amps.
It costs you nothing to go hear them at a Crown dealer. Once you've heard them, you can at least list model specific rants or raves.
I am convinced if they were in a billet aluminum case and cost 5 times the price with the same sound and marketed for home use, these would be seen as the next piece of "must have, audio jewelry ".
Unfortunately they are readily available, a newer technology, and low enough in cost so that pretty much anybody on these boards can buy them in one variant or another.
Bob Carver once made his 400.00 amp sound indistinguishable from a 14,000.00 amp and instead of being applauded, most audiophiles shunned him for proving high end sound quality need not be expensive.

The truth about that story from two different sources. He achieved a successful result by live tweaking a prototype, a process that proved unstable and unsuitable for series production. Later Carver himself, said that it was impossible to duplicate his results in production amplifiers.Carver was able to duplicate the sound of the selected C-J amp. However, the results were unstable and the similarity faded over time. Carver had to continually tweak the amps during the challenge and was never able to duplicate the sound over the long term, which is why the production models sounded nothing like the C-J.
