That's excellent news. Money spent on the health of loved ones (animals included) is always money well spent.

Hope she heals quickly. I remember my small dog having the surgery a few years back and having to wear that cone on her head for quite awhile so she wouldn't bother the surgery wound. Still chuckle at the photos. Didn't do the surgery on the second ACL tear because some vets I talked to said sometimes they do quite well without it. She improved to the point where you couldn't tell the good leg from the bad, and lived until age 15 without any more leg problems.

Update- Did the surgery on Wednesday. Vet said it went well. She is starting to get around better, even putting some weight on it. Now for the rehab....

The rehab is the hardest part. No running, jumping, up and down stairs. You pretty much have to keep them calm and on a leash outside. Don't want them trying to sprint after a squirrel.

    Glad it all went well.

good news for sure. And as others have said the next few weeks are the hardest, keeping her calm. Once she starts to feel better she will want to run.

Heartwarming to say the least. Happy endings are few and far between these days, and I'm glad your family caught one. And BETTER than new would also be nice.

Took a few days off and man did this place take a turn for the worse. On a happier note, got one happy girl. Wants to run around like a puppy but it's too soon for that....

Awesome! Great to hear she's doing good! My oldest dog is a Lab/Sheppard mix also, but he looks like a really tall Lab. Good looking gal you have there!
