MM521 with Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2 popping and cut out

I have a set of Polk Audio MM521 speakers mounted in my motorcycle saddlebags that I am powering with a Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2 Punch amp. Anything above 24 on the volume the speakers start to pop and the sound is gone. I have tried every adjustment possible on the amp and nothing solves the problem. I'm guessing that the problem may be something to do with the crossover on the speakers. The amp has a built in crossover. Is there a way to by pass the crossover on the speakers?

No. The amp does not have the adjustability to properly power the speakers. You'd like end up blowing the tweeters. Crossovers cannot just stop sound from coming out. Sounds like you're over exerting the amplifier.

Agree with post above. What gauge wire are you running and what is the power and ground wire connected to. When the sound cuts out what does the light do next to the power wire input on the amp. The other might is how are you getting signal to the amp, hi-pass or after market radio?
