Need some advice please!!!!outdoor speakers
Hi all, after a lot of researching outdoor speakers (klipsch, kef, pbs? etc)i have decided that polk are the ones I want, unjust a little confused as to what the real difference is, I've nowhere to go a actually hear them as I'm in the uk, I have been edged towards the atrium 6, my budget is about $350 max for a pair, but I read so many reviews saying that the bass is rubbish, others saying its great, I just don't know who to listen too????also if I buy a pair in the states will they work in the uk??? Never really thought about it until I went on polks website and it mentioned the amplification. 220v - NO?? So if anyone can let me know
1. The best candidate for outdoor speaker!!
2.will they work in the UK?
Any help would be great!!!!
Thankyou so much, god bless.

Those speakers will work just fine in the UK. I'm not sure why Polk lists amp specs as the speakers are not powered.
They are rated at 50Hz-27kHz, so don't expect deep bass. I've got an earlier version in the cabin of the boat, there is bass, but not the kind that will rattle things.Political Correctness'.........defined

I've got rc60i in the bathroom and I love em, I'm easily pleased, but u don't want to regret a purchased, if there's a lot better on the market

Try to locate a used pair of WM6.

Awesome base and great highs. They also last forever outside if you stick them on a post. If you leave them out over the winter the grills will rust. ( but you can hit them with spray paint if they do)
Sonance Mariner 62 on ebay are like 200 a pair. A great speaker because the entire box is sealed, so you can leave them outside in the winter and ants wont move in. They sound good, not as good as the 82.

I have installed hundreds of these two speakers.
Gave a pair WM6s to my Father and my neighbor.
Good luck on the search, please stay away from rock speakers. rock speakers and water park speakers are a waste of money.B&W CM9Classé Sigma -

Sonance makes a great outdoor sub. you dig a hole and dump it into the Earth. They really do "bump" and hide will.B&W CM9Classé Sigma -

I have the older polk outdoor speakers Atrium 55. I have a quite a large deck and backyard and they fill both areas beautifully. There is bass as F1 said and it is fine for me without a sub. If you require deep bass you may want to get a seperate sub.
Also make sure you have good heavy guage speaker wire that is rated for outdoors. I recommend these...http://www.crutchfield.com/p_703142125/AudioQuest-FLX-14-2-14-Gauge-2-Conductor-In-Wall-Speaker-Cable-125-feet.html?tp=9223.Rig1 - Totem Hawks, Benchmark HDR, Parasound A21, Sonus, Samsung 52 LCD, Audioquest Type4

I think the Polk's are a good choice. None of the outdoor speakers that I'm aware of have deep bass, for that you'll have to add an outdoor sub.
As point of reference the B&W's mentioned above are really bass shy only going down to 62 Hz, the Sonance go to 55 Hz while the Polk's go to 50 Hz.Political Correctness'.........defined

I've also had Atrium 45's above my 24x12 deck, tucked into the eaves. Bass is not great but the sound is full. I've got them angled down at 45 degrees with about 10 feet of space between them. The Atrium 4's are running for about 150 a pair now on Amazon. I remember seeing an outdoor subwoofer on some website that apparently fastens to the underside of the deck which puts out tactile sub frequencies. I thought it looked interesting but I forgot where I saw it.TV: 65" Samsung QLED 4K
