Amplifier Section Channel 7.2
Rated Output Power (1kHz, 2ch driven) 110W (8ohms, 0.9% THD)
Rated Output Power (20Hz-20kHz, 2ch driven) 95W (8ohms, 0.09% THD)
Dynamic Power per Channel (8/6/4/2 ohms) 140/180/210/250W

These are the specs for the amp in the Yamaha RX-V773. The Monitors are rated up to 200watts at 8ohms. It also has pre outs which is a plus. My listening habits are modest...I don't blow the windows out of the sill when listening to music. Think the receiver and speakers would work well with each other?

My room is roughly 20'x30'. That really is just a guestimate because my tape measure is conveniently misplaced.

I have been reading the polk education articles and I'm trying to figure out what wattage to keep in mind when playing music. I am definitely wanting pre outs for an external amp in the future. Looks like my only options for that feature is 7.1 at the least, which I will never use...yeah, I'm pretty sure of that. I have no need or want for that many speakers, but as a rule of thumb for 20-200 watt 8ohm speakers what is suitable wattage to look for? Anybody??
