Ethernet Adapter Kit

Hello Guys,
So today I went to Magnolia store in Best Buy nearby. I went to see a dedicated CD Player. I was debating to either go for Marantz CD Player or just save up a bit more and go for Oppo BDP 105. However, I found Pio elite SC-65 on sale for 999.99. I listened to some music and I was sold. Now, I do have Marantz SR6006 which I love, but after listening to pio, I decided to take the plung and go for it. I ended up buying it and will pick up on Thursday.

While I was talking to the sales guy, he suggested to use Netgear Powerline 500 Nano Ethernet Adapter kit to enjoy internet via receiver-- something I wanted to do for some time now, but did not know that such adapter kits do exist.

What do you guys say? I certainly need something like that to take full advantge of the system. I am not sure which is the good if not best ethernet kit to go for. Any recommendations please?

The Ethernet kit is pretty cool technology, the copper in your home wiring is capable of handling boatloads of data. You should have no issues with it unless the two AC outlets you wish to use are not on the same circuit. That's not a complete dealbreaker, but be sure you can return it if doesn't work on the two outlets you need.

The receiver is plug in play. If your router is close just plug it into the router directly. If not then use a switch if you are running out of ports. If thats not even an option then wireless adapter.

I appreciate it. @Sherardp-- my router is upstairs and the system is downstairs. So that will remove the router plug in out of equation.

@cc43fan-- good point about the AC outlets on the same circuit or not. I will double check.

Any perticular adapter kit that you guys can recommend? Best Buy sales person told me to go with Netgear Poweline 500 nano adapter kit. Any other good/better/equivallent suggestions that you might have..

This kit if wireless sounds great.I run from my office through splitters and RCA cables to my Yamaha, not the precise way to go but it does work and the wires are at least hidden.

I'm not a big fan of Netgear products. I've had a few of there things...meh. I continue to stick with Cisco, I think they also make powerline type gear.
