As I was driving & flipping through the radio stations today, I heard Dennis Prager say he has an upcoming article in Absolute Sound regarding the Justification of Expensive Stereo Equipment (or something to that affect) . . . . It should be an interesting read that I'm sure you'll pass-on to your significant other

Justification of good audio gear only takes a few sentances.

    1) If your wife is worried about where you are on any given evening, check the room where the gear is.

    2) If your wife is worried about friends/associates bad influance, your at home with them in front of gear.

    3) In the long run, it will save money on the cost of going to the movies to see the just released block buster-see it 2 weeks later for 1/3 of the cost

    4) She can have the girls over, or go out with them. You're with your gear, and won't disturb them.

    5) When she does want to have an evening out, you won't argue, she may pad lock the room where your gear is.

    6) She doesn't have far to look for you when a honey-do needs done.

    7) If you happen tobe single, like I am, I like it, want it, so I'll buy it-provided funds are available.

Just for fun and with NO ABILITY TO BUY I went and looked at a bunch of McIntosh gear.

A couple of their 2KW monoblock amps, their HDMI switching preamp, and one of the 7 channel amps. All very pretty to look at and most likely theft proof since the amps and power modules weigh about 400 pounds a channel.
    The price?
More than I paid for my last house!

I'll be keeping my eyes open for that article. I talked to Dennis once about Hi-Fi back when he was doing a show called "Religion on the Line" He was a fan of tubes back then. I wonder if he still is?

There is no need for me to justify anything to anybody when it comes to my system. I am the only one who is riding this journey in this house. If anything with regards to my rig ever needs to be justified, it would only be to my ears.
