Hello!
My name is Christian Lumsden.
How are you all doing?
I am an audio noob.
However, I'll own you all at Call of Duty 4.
Aside from that, all I want to do is say "whatsup" in a test thread.

Welcome.
Do you currently have a system or looking to build one?
I am 22 years old. I am looking to build 3 systems, basically.
The Recreational System:
I am purchasing the LSiM 703's or 705's, still haven't decided.
For this system, I currently have a DSW Pro 660
The Professional System:
I hope to get a system on which I can produce music. I am into jazz and electronica, primarily. Ask me more if you would like to hear/see examples.
The sub for this system will most likely be something from Hsu Research. VTF-15h or dual VTF2 mk 4's are what I am considering. My dad says I need to do more research.
I get the idea that I really need powered monitors to do professional work. The monitors suggested to me were JBL's with room and Q control. They are 1100. I am still open to suggestions on this one.
The 3rd system is a reference system. I probably will just be making the LSi's the reference system. I can move them to show off my speaks, or have a party.
I have little to NO audio experience. I grew up around Polk speakers, so I am always wary of good reviews. The audio world is still confusing and vexing to me.
Now for the most important part of this post:
PLEASE do NOT let anything I post here reflect upon my father or the quality of Polk as a company or the products it makes.
Thanks!

I could possibly produce jaz influenced music. I would find it hard not to. My experience in jazz has pretty much led my to understand that the study of jazz is just the study of contemporary harmony. So that's how I look at music.
I am much more influenced by more thoughtful producers like Tipper, for instance, than peeps like Skrillex. I am DEFINITELY more into the meat of harmony and rhythm than I am into catchy pop melodies and wobbles for the sake of wobbles.
I do plan on digging in to Ableton, though. It is good software. -

Hi Chris and welcome to the club (Polk that is)! There are a lot of friendly, knowledgable, and helpful people here.
Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

That's the phrase that I was required to sign a little while back by Polk's lawyers, so you're good to go. :biggrin:Sal Palooza -
