Bi Amp Question

1) Is useing the main ch (L&R) of the recever for the High output and the pre out (front L&R) to a amp to run the Low output a acceptable option? recever is 110 w/ch and the amp is 100 w/ch.
2) would this allow me to set the front ch to small without affecting the pre outs and the low response?
3) Or would I be better off to use 4 ch of the amp to run the fronts? I'm trying to save the 3rd and 4th ch on the amp for the rear surround ch's without buying a 2nd amp.
