Has anyone heard either or both versions (ideally) of Buddy Holly's From The Original Master Tapes SHM CD released in Japan? The first was from 2008 and the newer one released in 2012. Are these identical in sound does anyone know? I definately want to buy this SHM CD, but the 2008 version is out of print. I don't mind buying the 2012 version assuming it sounds identical to the 2008 version. Thanks for the help.

My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

If the '08 is OOP you don't have much of a choice to make, unless you are comtemplating buying it used. Have you heard the '08 version? If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

I have not heard the '08 version. I can find a new and/or used copy of the '08 version (that is more expensive than the '12 version). I was hoping someone has heard both and can compare the sound quality. I am guessing they sound the same and that the exact same master was used, but until you hear it you don't know for sure.
