I bought his first CD in ten years, and I stopped listening to it after 3 1/2 songs. It just wasn't working for me. I will try again some time later.

I just got it today Its not the Bowie from the Mick Ronson Years, but sounds more like Lodger or Heathen, I'am liking it, I like how they took the cover off Heroes crossed it out and put the white placard with The Next Day on it, putting a pic on your latest music buys next. I also hear a little Scary Monsters on it as I'am listening.

Lodger and Scary Monsters? Good stuff from DB there! I've been curious about the new release, probably pick it up. Was a huge Bowie fan in my youth, oh wait, I'm still a Big Youth! lol

Gotto give BD a chance. The dude is a musical chameleon.

Definitely benefits from multiple listening sessions. Some really well crafted songs on it. Much better than his previous album Reality. Worth a purchase, IMO.

And don't be shy on the volume, with each and every listen I like it more and more. It took a while for the post Ronson Bowie to appeal to me but some of his stuff after that took a few listens to grow on you, but this one didn't take a few listens for me to like it. I took a liking to it first go round!
