Currently I am using an Aragon 4004 mkII(200wpc) on my 2.3tl's, with the jumpers on the Polks. I am looking at a GAS Son of Ampzilla(80wpc). I wondered how it might sound if I used the GAS for the uppers and the Aragon for the mid woofers? I do have the A1 cable and my preamp has 2 main outs. Any Polkies have good results biamping these?

Do you have a way to match the gain of the 2 very different amps? If not, it isn't going to work.

How about 2 Son of Ampzillas? I already have one on the way and can get another. Better off sticking with using the Aragon via jumpers on the Polk's binding posts or biamping a pair of the GAS?

I'd try it both ways. It really depends on the quality of the amps. +1 that you have to have a way of matching the gain or everything will be out of whack.

I used to biamp my Def Tech BP 30's with a carver TFM 42 on the lows and a TFM 24 on the highs. In order to make it sound right I used a NAD C160 pre that had to sets of outputs to power amps with adjustable gain on one. I plugged the 42 into the fixed gain output and the 24 into the adjustable. Dialed it in perfectly and used it for several years until the 24 died.
