Good deal! Someone should do this. I would if I was a lot closer and didnt already have "too many" speakers. GLWS!I got static in my head
The reflected sound of everything -
Thats a good price for those. What kind of tweets did you use as replacements? If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!

Vifa d19td if I remember correctly. I'd have to find the paperwork to be positive but I think I am right. I have the black plastic strips to go on the back but haven't gotten to putting them back on yet. Here's a pic or two of the wood. It is sanded on the tops but not sealed or stained yet. The chip you see in the pic is on the bottom in the back. The two goods are tops and the two bads are bottoms. The little black on the edges of the tops is paint not a chip.

Those are really nice and well worth your asking price. Too bad I'm not closer to you. I enjoy my TW3s, but I hear many people say they like the TW1s or originals (like yours) better.

They really sing, no slouch in the mid and base area. Surprising little gems to be sure. Listening to them prior to purchase is possible and suggested.Too much **** to list....

These are great. I own both the original TW's like these and the TW3's and both are great just different. I would love to find a pair of TW1A'sIf con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!

What model are those. My friend in S.F.has a pair of TW 7s and alledgedly only 200 pairs of 7s were made . Meanwhile I have TF350s and yes I would upgrade if the $ and distance were not an issue.Reread your post and price is not the issue at all.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E

lw, those are the original model, as the top drivers are plain.
The 1as have a thick fabric anti diffraction piece, resembling an eyelid over the top portion of those.
The 3s top drivers appear as a plus sign through the sock covering material covering the outside of the speaker, as the anti diffraction grill covers all but the cross portion of a plus sign.
Your friend in sf has some very special speakers, have you ever had a chance to listen to them?
I would urge anyone who has never owned tw speakers of any model to give them a try, a lot of fun.humpty dumpty was pushed -
Unfortunately I left the Bay Area in the 80s to move back here in the east so no I never heard them.I actually never heard of DCM before all this audio upgraditus crap started. We started talking about his system and about the 7s and I told him I was looking into Vandersteen 2ce sigs.He as a left coaster never heard of them which really surprised me ,but we both had no idea of each others taste. I did get my TF 350s resocked and refoamed for your $150 on C/L so that's why I'm a little annoyed but you are way to far and I still have to thin the heard, I did sell my beloved Bose 601s .2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E

If I get what you are saying it seems you are jilted at the idea that I am selling mine for the cost of your socking job LOL. I have in the past been accused of trying to give away my gear so I am not sure I would compare my prices to others. When I am done with something I just want it gone and out of the way. I am not a big proponent of equipment storage. If I remember right the tweeters are near my asking price.Too much **** to list....

Kinda,I personally did not do the resocking and refoam. It was clearly done though and wow for the same $ what a difference in models. I really don't know replacement part prices or for that matter parting anything out but yes you have a great deal there. When things settlle down and if they are still around and what shipping to Jersey would be I still might be interested and sheet can something else of mine.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E
