These are extremely rare and hard to find especially in this kind of condition, about 8.5 out of 10. One owner for the last 35 years. They even came with the original paperwork and manual. They are 100% original and all 17 drivers function flawlessly. This guys shop is kind of like that shop on "Needful Things" everyone can find something they cant live without. He replaced the foam on the Watkins woofer. and cleaned them up. So far the only thing I did was replace the failing speaker grill connectors with magnets.
Sound so far is out of this world, well they dont sound better than the Vandersteen model 7's but like I could ever afford that. I will give a more through review latter on but so far mids and vocals sound better than the 2's or even modded 2.3tl's.

Dang! Those are huge. Polk SRS look so tiny.
    Congrats!
BTW, don't they need something like external controller box or something?
Hope we don't loose you from Polks as Infinity's of that level are supposed to have amazing sound.

Thanks for the comments guys, These dont need anything, I had a pair of IRS beta that required a servo control unit for the bass towers, I was young and dumb when I had those though and never had any real power going to them or enough room for them to breathe. Yes these do sound pretty fantastic but time is not on their side and I dont know how hard it will be to find replacement drivers or have them repaired if they go out. I have been doing some research on them and the x-overs are fairly complicated, I am sure If I keep them one day I will rebuild them. One good thing about Colorado is that it is a good place for electronics, cool and dry and stuff lasts a lot longer.
Dont worry, pretty sure I am here to stay.

IIRC, my eye level, which would put them right at around 68" give or take.

Close, they are 66" tall and 190 lbs each. Yeah I only got a 50" because I had a HT with a 110" screen and now that we moved and that's gone it does look small. When we buy a house these will probably be part of the HT and I will get another projector to pair with these.

Congratulations, zarrdoss! They look like amazing speakers! If you do not mind me asking, how much did you get them for? I am just curious as I have never seen them before. Must be quite rare. And, if they sound as great as they look, you must be in sonic heaven right now!

Yeah I keep kickin myself in the ****$ for getting rid of them, but I sold them to a friend of mines dad who was an audio nut and had the proper system and space they deserve.

I got them or will have got them for $1000 when we pay off my wife's credit card, I went home and tried to find any info on them price wise but came up short. I just knew out of all the years I have never seen any for sale. So I decided to take a plunge.

OK after some serious listening I can give my impression of these speakers. I do not miss the SDA affect at all with them, the sound stage is huge with them and I swear I can hear things way off to the sides of my living room. These have deadly accurate mid-range that cuts right through your ears and seem to go directly to your brain. Amy Lee's vocals on My Immortal ran chills down my spine. Crystal clear highs I have heard a bunch of stuff all my SDA's have missed. Bass response is strong to say the least, I am a huge fan of subs with music but with these I have my sub off most of the time. That's when they are turned up, at lower volumes they still sound good but seem to wander a bit. I am going to suspect the 35 year old caps and resistors on the highs have drifted out of value and dried up and that's what is causing it. I will be re-capping these and will either use Dayton 1% or Clarity cap PX, any thoughts? I have to use 25 watt resistors so I am kind of at the mercy of using the ones from Madisound, there are three 2-5.4 ohm and a 2.7 ohm. Also there are three caps for the tweeters for the select-able low, mid, high crossover and that's another reason I want to go with something cheaper. Also I want to get a cheaper capacitance meter and measure the value on the huge 1100 and 1400 electrolytic caps on the woofer, also huge in size see pics. I have read reviews where people that have replaced them complained of weak bass afterwards. I don't want to replace them if necessary.

    not my pics
