Need quick advice on a musical sub

Newegg has the polls on sale again and I've been thinking about a sub to round out the bookshelf setup, now I need to figure out which one to get.
First, I want the most musical option, HT is not important at all. I want something fast and tight, don't really need the deepest though.
Right now I'm looking at the DSWPro 550i and the MicroPro 1000. How much of a difference would there be in performance?
My gut tells me that the micro would do better for music given the smaller driver, but I'm not sure if its enough to justify the extra $200.
Thoughts?
I'm not sure how long the sale is on, so I'd like to pull the trigger tonight if I can recode on something.

Of the 2, and both fit my budget, I would choose the micr pro over the dsw. Don't get me wrong, both subs will probably work well, just think the micro pro will better fit your needs.

I have an MP1000 in my 2 channel room, and it is very tight and responsive. I am xoverd at about 60, and it compliments my LSi 9's very nicely.
Position is very important too.My New Year's resolution is 3840 × 2160

I have 2 of those little 8" Micro Pro guys, one 1000 and one 2000. Very fast, tight responsive fellas.Main Family Room: Sony 46 LCD, Sony Blue Ray, Sony DVD/VCR combo,Onkyo TXNR 708, Parasound 5250,

For $200 less, I'd definitely take the 550 over the MP1000. In fact, I HAD both a MP2000 and a MP3000 and I got rid of them and replaced them with a pair of 550's and haven't regretted the move for one minute. I find that the 550 pulls double duty (Stereo and HT) very nicely in my systems with Monitor 10Bs and SDA-2BTLs.
Also, I think you can do better than $499 on a MP1000. Doesn't Polk have them on their ebay store for less? Do be careful there though, 'cuz those are refurb's with just a 2-yr warranty and Polk charges tax on them. Newegg's are New with a 5-yr warranty, FREE shipping and NO tax.
Now, if you think an 8" is enough for your needs, I'd also consider the PSW111 and probably even moreso, the DSWPRO440Wi at $169 and $249, respectively, at Newegg. That's $330 and $250 less, respectively, than the MP1000.
I have a PSW111 in another system with my hot-rodded/heavily-modded Monitor 7s and really like it. A couple of times, I thought about selling it when friends had heard it and asked if they could take it off my hands. I was ready to let it go each time, until I gave it one last "decision-time" listening and just couldn't do it - liked it too much!
Summary: I'd try the DSW440Wi at HALF the price of the MP1000! It's an 8" Sub, is Tiny and Powerful. Has a remote control. Is downfiring (can be made to go front-firing) and has the same sweet matte-black finish as the MP1000. LOTS of good stuff there and at a GREAT price! -
Hello, AsSiMiLaTeD. You might want to take a look at some custom Tyler Acoustic subs that are up for sale in the Flea Market right now at a smokin' price. I know this is a shameless plug for me but you wanted a musical sub? Look no further and in this case, you get a magnificent set of subs you can hook up in stereo. Food for thought.....
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.....
Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
Those Tylers are very nice, but out of my price range unfortunately, and I only have room for a single sub.

Assimilated - I see Newegg's prices are all (except on the PSW111, still at $169 shipped) back to full price. Did you pull the trigger on one of them?
