I would not want to go up or down that in the winter... you'd never get up and just try to stop on the way down when it's iced over...

My driveway is the same length. The first half looks like the ones in the pic. The second half is level. Not as bad as you might think but what really sucks about the ones in the pics is that you would have to have a 4wd truck for front end height clearance. My camaro would be stuck with all 4 wheels off the ground! They could at least have left a little relief angle from the sidewalk to the driveway!

Edit: Oh yea, when it gets icy I have to leave a rope hanging down over it. Otherwise the only way to get up it is to take off your shoes and very carefully climb up. Do you know how freakin cold that gets! The rope idea came about after doing this 4 times the same night. Each time I would get most of the way and then slide back down into the street. Hilarious to the neighbors I'm sure...

Is that Evil Knievel's driveway? My wife would drive right through our roof if that was our house.

    Just a thought here fellas....

With front drives, there probably isn't an alleyway, right?

How about rolling the FULL trashcan(s) down that effer once a week? Someone needs to get video of that. As soon as you take that first 'hump' out of the garage - nothing but asses and elbows. An avalanche of empty rum bottles, Swanson pot-pie boxes, and some dickhead going end over end to the bottom of the drive.

Gotta be a hell of sight.

    Cheers,
    Russ

That is what it's like. Are you calling me a dickhead? :D:D:D

    On mine,
Passing buiding codes? They didn't have a problem with it. Many houses in my development has this problem. Imagine this one. The truck is in 4wd, 4th trip to the top, Put in park, slides down in the middle of the street again. I wanted to have it paved with asphalt but if I did I would never get the truck to stick to it...

Why would anybody make the driveway with such a steep angle like that? The sudden angle change has to limit what can get up to the garage. My 98 Dakota ext cab 4x4 mabey if I was lucky, my 00 Ram 4x4 possibly without the plow or brackets, my wifes 02 Neon forget it!

The only landscaping I can think of, is to build stairs/steps on the side parallel to the driveway, and sell tickets in the winter time for a nice ride/slide down on a toboggan for the neighborhood kids :)

Just be happy that drive way is not built in Canada, with all the snow and freezing rain !! might as well park on the street.

As mentioned above good luck to the kids trying to play hockey in the drive-way.

    This was his response:
please tell me that is photoshopped..."Mommy.. can I go ride my bike ....AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"....crash
