Thinking about building your own IC's, Mogami?
Well there was another member on here awhile back (Zingo, bluefox not sure?) telling me how good the Mogami 2549 was.
Having used the 2534 (which is a quad config.) on several occasions (and other Mogami's also) I took it with a grain of salt, because I really liked the 2534.
Well, now I am a believer.
Made a pair of IC's from the 2549 and I must agree it even sounds better than the 2534!
Thats saying something right there.
I would recommend it as a first choice, if you are thinking about making a pair of IC's.
Impressive for the price!
The only pair I have ever made with 2549 cable is with the cheaper Furutech rca plugs ($6.50/ea).
Pretty impressive indeed!
Per foot/$$, the Mogami can't be ignored, I have paid alot more for alot less in the past.

PS: I hardly EVER use pre made cable, but must admit, I was impressed with the Mogami 2549, and super easy to work with.
Beats insulating your own wire (that sux to say the least).Testing

Are you using both of the conductors for positive and the shield for negative or one for each? -
I used the shield as a drain (with the -) connected on 1 side only (source side).
Using the two conductors as + & - only on the other side (load side).Testing

To be clear, I used the two conductors as positive and negative (with shield as drain) on one side.
Positive and negative conductors on the other side (only, no shield).Testing

They sounded ALOT better than I expected!

I just purchased some Mogami XLR cables with gold plated Neutrik for my studio monitors...
Nice cables for sure!
Looks great Paul! I bet it sounds even better!- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
For RCA interconnects, I would use one of the Mogami coax cables! It's that heavy braided shield that makes a good RCA interconnect.
Worst case it's up to 24dB better. -

I needed low L in this case.
Total TT usage......
Just saying.Testing

I am building the matching tonearm cable, 5 pin to dual rca's.
No need in "mismatching" the phono pre to pre cables.......
Know what I am saying "Skater"?
Same cable for both!Testing

You must know there is a difference???Testing

A T.T. cable with a special 5 pin connector is not an RCA unbalanced analog interconnect!
These blue interconnects seem to have lost their 5 pin connector.
I'll go with the experts that do the work and publish the results.

Keith Armstrong
Jim Brown

Since, I am making the other cable (not finished) with a 5 pin to dual rca's, it only seems logical to use the same wire for a pair of interconnects (shown above).
Recommending another type of cable to me seemed illogical.
Blue? They are actually grey (guess my camera sux).
Why study, when you can make?
Can you not tell since I was the only one posting in this thread it may have been alcohol related?
Its been awhile, but I was actually in no condition to drive a keyboard!Testing
