I just joined a club, and have never played before in my life! We had a "boot camp" week for it her on base, and tried it out. liked it enought to join. i still have never seen an actual game/match played yet and never seen it played outside of the teaching we get at practice. anyone have any expirience and advice to give me?

    That said, the guys on the team seemed like they formed a pretty strong bond. Like brothers.

    Played for 4 years in college. Greatest sport ever. Really wish it would catch on more here. You need to unlearn a lot of what American football instincts tell you to do. Advancing the ball forward is a true team effort, without the running-back style heroics. A running back in football spends a lot of time moving laterally, looking for a hole. You don't do that in rugby. You push the ball forward until you can't. Then you pass the ball off to the next player in the line, or you form a ruck. Don't ask me what a ruck is, too complicated to explain, but you'll learn. And bring your drinking shoes for after the match.......

    Insurance* and had part one of the Captain's Cup 7's tournament and PWD went undefeated and we hold the best record at 4-0, I scored in one of the four games and made a couple big plays, pics when our club posts them. Also, I am usually good with memorizing songs.

    So I zulu-ed two weeks ago and drank for it this weekend, for those not in the know, it means my first score, and what that entails when you drink for it is chugging a beer from one of your boots. I will post the video sometime thi week, my team is tied for first in the captains cup after two 7's tournaments.

    I played 4 years in college - a hooker and prop. GET A MOUTHPIECE! Don't ask me how I know.... This is a true team sport - no indivdual heros in this game. The fun extends aftet the match.

    About the fun, very true, glad i didnt have duty this weekend, otherwise i would have been sidelined from the afterparty again. and bought one, it was absolute garbage, threw it off the field 2 minutes into the first game, and now have a dental appointment to go get a good custom fit one. I play just about anywhere they want me, forward in 15's, wing in 7's, and back lifter and left side in a 7's scrum. im big, and i have good speed in open field, getting the lateral movement a little, but prefer to just move people instead. made a 60 meter try last weekend, and then worked my a$$ off just to catch my breath, haha.
