If you like women jazz singers then this is a great SACD. Just got it, and listening to it now. This is music should sound.

    You may also like the Companion CD. There is a Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab SACD version, now out of print, but you may be able to find a copy on eBay or elsewhere.

    Got any Diana Krall ? The Girl In Another Room SACD on the Verve label is outstanding. My favorite track is Narrow Daylight, written by Krall and husband Elvis Costello.

    I've picked up Companion, Cafe Blue, Verse, Modern Cool, and Nightclub on MFSL SACD. All are stellar recordings and I really like her voice, her phrasing, her piano playing. Shes' got a guitar player who's really interesting to listen to as well. Like how she reinterprets songs that I wouldn't expect on a Jazz album and makes them very unique and her own. ("Ode to Billy Joe"? "The Beat Goes On"? "Light My Fire"? Who thought the world needed a reinterpretation of these songs until they existed?) Her original tracks are really good.

    Anyway, these are definitely go-to discs in my collection. Expect to shell out $40-80 per on eBay; more if you wish for sealed copies. I got 'em when they were a bit cheaper, but I don't regret having purchased them.

    I'm glad I found this disk when it was only $25. I have all Diana Krall, both SACD and CD, and will look into Carol Duboc. Thanks for the tips and will try to buy her other SACDs.

    At the same time as I ordered the SACD I also ordered Companion on 24k gold HDCD. This is my first HDCD, and it too sounds really good. At $33 dollars, it better sound good. I wonder how it sound after being ripped to my music server?

    Thanks Fox, for introducing me to Patricia Barber.
    I now own 2 of her fabulous quality Flac rips and I must say I am very impressed with the sound quality.
    Very detailed instruments her voice is very powerful, great sound stage I can hear where the band member is on the stage..
