Morning,
I may have an opportunity to buy a pair of Rti A9 for $800. Is that a fair price? I would like to upgrade my Rti 10s in my home theater.
thanks,

I bought my Rti12,s new for that for two w free shipping? They go for that apiece now(RTi A9). Seems pretty fair price. Make sure you have an external amp to push them. They will need it. Good luck. Bought mine for 749 each. 700 a pair seems like a pretty good deal.Source: BRP Panasonic UB9000, CDP Emotiva ERC3 - Display: LG OLED EVO 83 C3 - Pre/Pro: Marantz 8802A - Amplification: Emotiva XPA-DR3, XPA-2 x 2, XPA-6, Speakers, Mains/2ch-Focal Kanta No2's, C-LSiM706, S-702F/X, RS-RTiA9's, WS-RTiA9's, FH-RTiA3's, Subs - Epik Empire x 2

I'm supposed to look at them tomorrow. He seems open to the $600, but apparently someone else is offering the same, so I may have to put in another $25-$50.
Wish me luck.HT:

Man, I love my A9's!! For 2ch I prefer the emo 300wpc over the 200wpc, less bright sounding. I have a second set of A9's as wides and running the emo 200wpc and for H.T. the sound is great.
If he's letting them go for 600, your bid for 650 is still quite a deal! I discovered SDA's and bought my current 3.1TL's. There was NO comparison on which was the better musical speaker.
That and a buddy REALLY wanted them so it all worked out. Too bad he now wants a pair of SDA's  -
I would Love to listen to some SDA.... I read so much here about how awesome they are.HT:

Well, the seller brought the speakers... They were not mint :frown: they had a few scuff marks two small dings one on a button edge and another on a side front edge. The drivers were covered in dust... The guy would not take less than $650 do you think the are worth $600?
I can clean the drivers and polish the cabinets, but Does Polk Audio sells touch up paint?
Thanks for the helpHT:

Well, the seller ended up accepting my offer. He called me like 30 min after leaving my house, turned around and delivered the speakers. At 1st i was a bit skeptical, but once I cleaned the speakers I must say that they look nice. The only issues are the two small dings and a scuff mark that I will try to fix. They sound very good. I haven't been able to calibrate the system yet.
I'll post pics as soon as I can.HT:

I have that setup. I have two GFA-555 MkIIs for bi-amping. My setup is one Adcom amp for each speaker (left channel powers bass array, right channel powers upper array). I find it to give a much better stereo separation than using one amp's channels (L and R) for bass arrays and the other amp's channels for the upper arrays.
You'll really, really enjoy the oomph those amps can give the A9s. You will find yourself often using whatever Pure Direct equivalant mode your AVR uses quite often with your intended setup. They just sound that good. -
I'm really liking these speakers. Very noticeable improvement from the Rti10's.
Now I need spikes to decouple (sp?) them from the floor.HT:

They should have came with spikes, no? -
The seller didn't have spikes, and couldn't remember if they came with spikes. Also, I've never seen pictures of this speaker line with spikes.HT:

They in fact do come with spikes. I have carpeted floors, so I use the spikes for more stability. These things aren't exactly "stable" without them on some kinds of carpeting.
Now if Polk made longer feet for the MicroPro series subs...that passive radiator on the bottom can hit the floor very easily :P -

Yeah they aren't very stable on my carpet. Are the original spikes plastic like on the Rti10,s?
Polk charge $5/spike set which is a good price, however I'm tempted on spending a bit more on some nicer ( metal) ones.HT:

The spikes that come with the A9's are metal. -
Good deal for $600 for sure.
