RT5/RTi70 Review

Gear:
Receiver: Pioneer Elite VSX-41
Main Amp 1: Adcom GFA-545 II (Polk Audio RTi70)
Main Amp 2: Adcom GFA-535 II (Polk Audio RT5)
CD Player: Yamaha CDC-565

Sound:
Treble (Highs): Alone these speakers can not suffice. They alone can not match my taste in music. Together, they truly satisfy my ears. the Silk helping the highs, but the main player involved in this setup has gotta be the RT5. The clarity, detail, smoothness is all in the Polymer. The snare is rich and smooth, very lifelike. The vibrance of the cymbals is amazing. Each invidual sound, each tang, bang, wang, splash, every reverb made by the cymbal is accurately and evenly replayed. Even at low volumes this effect is done. I am not sure how much the Silk is actually doing but the Polymer absolutely sticks out.
The Polymer also does the Acoustic Guitar extremely well. This is where the detail slides all the way over on a steep incline. The RTi70 and RT35i are both left in the dust. It has this killer metallic sound, each note, string hit is easily redone with vibrance. It picks it all up, everything that they want you to hear, each mistake, every time the string vibrates off the fret board. Everything comes in clearly and detailed. Simply amazing. This is something the Silk could only dream of!

Mids: The mids are incredibly open. With a total of 6 active 6.5 inch midbasses the mids seem to be almost everywhere. In my small room, the soundstage is simply killer. Defaults new cd, I believe it is Track 2. Not quite sure of the name. Anyways, back on topic. The soundstage is amazing.
Sean commented at Polk HQ, how the new RT line speakers had little depth with the instruments. In going with what that could possibly mean. This stacked pair right here has extreme depth. Default plays some mean acoustic guitar in this track. The acoustic guitar starts in the front and simply gushes all around the room, sides, front, back. It has this insanely clear sound, the acoustic guitar is not limited to the front, it simply takes control of the entire room. Depth, this speaker combo has.

The drums take up the entire front soundstage, not over powering. Just each piece hit comes in clear with realism that the RTi70 alone could never mingle. Everything, specifically aligned to a drum layout, just spectacular.

Bass: These are some pretty punchy sounding speakers. Nothing really to talk about, subwoofer terriorty here.

Anyways, short review, enjoy.
